Barrie Families Unite is a Facebook group that was created as a space to facilitate help and connection within our community due to self quarantines, school closures, and other trickle down effects that resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic. 

 

The page was launched March 14th by Nikki Glahn, and within days had attracted thousands of community members and very quickly developed into an important resource to Barrie residents as they navigated through the early days of the pandemic. The page has evolved as the pandemic has evolved and will continue to do so as the current membership of over 9 300 has become like a large, extended family, and the group page has become a space where members come to look for help, support, ideas, activities, and connection.

The page is actively monitored by a dedicated team of volunteers who strive to maintain the group rules and ensure that this space is a safe one. A space where you can come and get GOOD information, helpful suggestions, and not worry about encountering shaming, judgment, and unnecessary debating.
